The oil rich Arabs of the Gulf never fail to amaze me with their over-the-top spending and this $11mil. Christmas Tree in the seven star Emirates Palace Hotel is just another example of extravagance – easily mistaken for stupidity.
The tree stands 43 feet high and is decorated with 181 pieces of diamonds, pearls, emeralds, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches and ball-shaped ornaments, courtesy of local jeweler Style Gallery.
